Tips For Attending Competitions
Thank you, in advance, for helping insure that Drug Quiz play-offs will be as smooth and uneventful as possible by …..
1. Checking with the Team Advisor to see if guests are invited to the competition you would like to attend.
2. Teaching your child that learning to win or lose gracefully is just as important a “life skill” as working hard and always trying to do one’s best.
3. Setting a good example regarding courtesy, respect, good sportsmanship, etc.
4. Not recording (writing down, audiotaping, videotaping, etc.) Drug Quiz questions.
5. Leaving it to Team Advisors and the Drug Quiz Officials present to handle any issues that might arise.
6. Validating your student’s commitment and effort. Instead of focusing on the number of points earned, acknowledge the growth your child has made in learning to deal with peer pressure, manage stress, work with others toward a common goal, etc.
7. Remembering that while only one team can win the trophy, the REAL winners are the students who learn to consistently make healthy choices in their own lives.
